Spring/Summer 2010 is looking busy for the good folks at my company Urban Romances with book, TV, film and internet projects on their way.  Thanks for checking out what's up at Urban Romances.

City Kid: A Writer's Memoir of Ghetto Life and Post-Soul Success, my memoir of growing up in New York City, has just been released in paperback.  This Thursday, April 8, 2010 I will read and discusses City Kid with TourĂ© at Greenlight Bookstore 686 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY, 730pm-830pm.

Thriller:The Musical Life of Michael Jackson will be published on the first anniversary of MJ's death. This book is very focused look at the biggest selling album of all time with an emphasis on the late singer's artistic evolution.

Left Unsaid, an on line series I shot in Brooklyn last summer, will be launched this July. This 19 episode series looks at the interaction of fifteen women at a Sunday brunch, touching on motherhood, gentrification, racism and sex.

A Walk Through Fort Greene is a documentary I'm co-directing with Diane Paragas about the black arts community that thrived in the area in the '80s and '90s. Among those interviewed are Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Rosie Perez and Talib Kweli.

VH1's Hip Hop Honors will be back June 7 with tributes to some of the biggest names in the game.

I've been traveling all over the globe the past eight months, shooting travel videos for www.BlackAtlas.com, a site that serves as an on line community for African-American tourists. Videos, blogs and pictures are posted my myself and members of the black travel community.

A walk through Fort Greene should give everyone a fresh look at the depth of Black artistic work, that is long past due. African American creativity didn't begin and end with the Harlem renaissance and all of it surely doesn't mirror Blaxplotation films .
